Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the US has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.

It said missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
