Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the fallout from his recent interview.

The Incident

He was omitted from a European match after criticising the club and suggesting his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

Team Unity

The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Positive Results

Liverpool's form have remained strong in the period after the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not intended to harm the team.

“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
